About me
Sophie grew up in the South West of England, she did her BA in Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and is now a freelance illustrator living in Glasgow. In her free time she enjoys knitting, visiting museums and going on walks with her whippet Rudy.
I've made illustrations for book publisher Flying Eye Books as well as for independent publications and I have had work in several exhibitions including Gallery Nucleus in L.A. the Old Fire Station in Bristol and the Drill Hall in Edinburgh, as well as publishing my own zines, t-shirts and prints. I was an artist in residence at Edinburgh-based risograph studio Out of the Blueprint in 2018. I also attend art conventions such as Thought Bubble yearly to sell my work and meet other artists which is always a lot of fun.
I try to capture a sense of playfulness and warmness in my drawings and I love exploring fantasy and nature themes. I’m always trying to learn something new from each drawing I make and though I mainly work digitally I also have a lot of fun playing around with materials such as collage, paint and fimo.
